So this book is very dramatic and it highlights the fact that so many teenagers are always fighting for popularity. Massie and her Pretty Committee have made it their life goal to make the new girl, Claire, miserable. It's actually pretty ironic because Claire hasn't really done anything to them. I think the fact that Massie is so insecure makes everything make sense because it shows us why she wants to bully Claire. Bullying is really hurtful and I feel like if you aren't ready to accept others, tehn just let them be and stay away from them. You reallly don't need to get all up in her face and think of tactics that will hurt the person being bullied. Massie has everything. But given that she is the leader of her "Pretty Committee", the most popular group at OCD middle school, she feel she must live up to certain standards. It's like, she can't show anyone what she's feeling because it would make ger feel weak. And if she looks weak in any way in front of not just her friends but also her school, then they will assume she is not a good leader. She likes the power she holds over certain people. She enjoys being able to imflict hurt or happiness upon others. She just likes being in power. Showing that she has insecure feelings will make others doubt her. I think this book was very interesting and I think friendship plays a very big role. Although some people are desperate to be popular, they shoulnd't hurt others just to make themselves happy.Massie shouldn't be bullying Claire just because of her clothes. These are all so superficial.
